I returned to the Star Tribune in 2014 after an absence of several years spent working at a marketing firm. I was a business reporter here in the 2000s; before that, I reported for six other newspapers from Alaska to Florida. I grew up in Fergus Falls and graduated from St. Olaf College, where I did not work on the college newspaper because I thought I’d be going to law school.
