The Minnesota Department of Health on Wednesday reported 310 people were hospitalized with COVID-19, a net increase of 16 from Tuesday. Among hospitalized patients, 143 needed intensive care due to severe breathing or other complications from the infectious disease that is caused by a novel coronavirus.
Superintendent Ed Graff said district officials want the school year to begin Sept. 8 with what they're calling "distance learning with supports," a model in which instruction and coursework would happen remotely.
While state health officials appeal to the public to control the spread of COVID-19, opponents of the governor's emergency orders are finding new ways to ignore or skirt the rules.
