Flood Threat Sunday and Beyond

April 23, 2009 at 9:30PM

A slow-moving cold front running up against a very warm and humid flow ofair from the Gulf of Mexico will cause heavy rain from Oklahoma to MichiganSunday, Monday and Tuesday. Through a very sizable area, rainfall totals willbe in the 2- to 4-nch range and up to 6 inches is possible. That much watercoming over such a short period most certainly would produce some prettysignificant flooding. Some of the downpours that occur will be unleashed by big-time thunderstormswhich will also have the capability of producing damaging winds and hail.
