Experiment with a creeper
Muskie anglers, like others who fish, form bait and lure prejudices based on experience. This can be an advantage, because the proven often produces time and again. But anglers can also sometimes become too set in their ways and fail to experiment. A bait that often is excluded from muskie anglers' prime choices is a "creeper," many variations of which are on the market. A surface lure, a creeper-style bait does just that: It creeps slowly atop the water, much as a crippled duckling or steroid-enhanced frog might. Sometimes a creeper, finely tuned, will produce fish when other lures won't.
