2 shot dead at South Side apartments

  • December 2, 2007 - 11:05 AM

An argument in a south Minneapolis apartment building apparently led to the shooting death of two men early Saturday morning, police said.

Officers were called to the double homicide on the 3100 block of Pleasant Avenue S. about 7:30 a.m., where they found a man's body in the hall of an apartment building. A second man ran out of the building and succumbed to his gunshot wounds in a nearby alley, said police spokesman Sgt. Jesse Garcia.

He said that the shootings did not appear to be random and that neighbors aren't in danger from a gunman in the area. Garcia said it's not clear yet whether anyone else was involved. He also didn't know whether any weapons were recovered or police had identified suspects.

No one is in custody, and the names of the victims have not yet been released.
