TWINS UPDATE

The Twins are 5-4 against Detroit this season but lost two of three against the Tigers at the Dome in May. ... Justin Morneau is batting .400 with three homers and seven RBI in nine games against the Tigers this season. ... The Twins are 14-11 in one-run games. ... Outfielder Rondell White has agreed to extend his minor league rehabilitation window past the 20-day limit, General Manager Terry Ryan said. White's right calf is healed, but a right hamstring injury has kept him out for the past week.

DETROIT UPDATE

Catcher Ivan Rodriguez has appealed a one-game suspension handed to him Saturday, but it's unclear whether the issue will be resolved during the series here this week. ... All-Star second baseman Placido Polanco has played once in the past five games because of a sore back muscle but hoped Monday's off day would help him heal.
