Three people were killed in two multi-car weekend accidents.

A woman was killed in a five-vehicle pileup in St. Louis Park on Saturday afternoon. Police said it happened about 3:15 p.m. when a sedan traveling east on Hwy. 7 rear-ended an SUV, setting off a chain reaction. The woman, who was riding in the back seat of the sedan, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else needed medical attention.

The crash temporarily shut down Hwy. 7, which reopened Saturday night. None of those involved were identified.

Two drivers were killed in a three-car crash in Wright County on Friday night. According to the Wright County Sheriff's Office, shortly before 10 p.m. its dispatch received a report of a car crash in the 8300 block of 10th Street NE. in St. Michael.

Two of the drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Several passengers and a third driver were taken to the hospital.

The identities of those killed and injured were not released.

Both crashes remain under investigation.
