The public this month will be able to weigh in on a proposed plan for the Intercity Regional Trail, a 7-mile paved multi-use trail that would stretch from Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis to the Minnesota River in Bloomington.

The plan was recently approved by commissioners for the Three Rivers Park District, which manages regional parks and trails in Hennepin County and other places in the west metro area.

The trail would link to the Grand Rounds system at Lake Nokomis, Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail in Richfield and the Mall of America. Connections to Dakota County's trails and the proposed Minnesota Valley State Trail also are being considered.

The plan is available at www.ThreeRiversParks.org and at agencies in Minneapolis, Richfield and Bloomington. Comments may be sent through May 1 to ICRT@ ThreeRiversParkDistrict.org, by fax to 763-557-5248 or to Three Rivers Park District, Intercity Regional Trail, 3000 Xenium Lane N., Plymouth, MN 55441.
