A car crashed through the window of an Edina Walgreens as customers shopped Thursday evening, leaving damage but no injuries.

The incident occurred at about 5:15 when a customer leaving the business on Vernon Avenue just west of Highway 100 accidentally put the car in reverse, backing through the plate glass window, according to Edina police Sgt. Mark Melander.

Although the Toyota Camry jumped the curb, no one was on the other side of the window where the vehicle made impact, sending glass and debris flying next to the entrance.

The store remained open as staff removed the debris, while a tow truck was on scene to remove the car.
