DHS investigating day care accused of leaving boy in bus for hours

Daycare accused of leaving boy on bus outside a learning center

January 28, 2015 at 3:46AM

Officials with the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) confirmed Tuesday that they are investigating a complaint about a Minneapolis church that runs a day care that, according to a mother's allegations, left a boy alone in a van for hours.

The boy's mother told KMSP-TV that the 3-year-old was left alone in a Shiloh Temple International Ministries church van parked outside of the Stim Learning Center for about seven hours Friday.

The day care operator acknowledged an incident had occurred that day, and that it had been reported to the state and to the parent, according to the television station.

A DHS spokeswoman said Tuesday that data privacy laws prevented her from confirming whether the investigation at Shiloh was linked to the boy.
