Border by the numbers

So just how common is it that a couple of guys from Poland and Slovakia are caught sneaking into the United States?

According to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, not very. Here are the top 10 countries of origin for deportation from the United States in 2006, based on the number of people deported:

1. Mexico 1,057,253

2. El Salvador 46,329

3. Honduras 33,635

4. Guatemala 25,135

5. Cuba 5,089

6. Dominican Rep. 3,712

7. Nicaragua 3,228

8. China 2,987

9. Brazil 2,957

10. Ecuador 1,932

29. Poland 337

134. Slovakia 15
