– The Wild might trade Cal Clutterbuck this weekend.

Despite a one-year extension for Clutterbuck being on the table and waiting to be agreed upon, General Manager Chuck Fletcher has been shopping the hard-hitting winger all week.

With salary-cap space at a premium this summer, the Wild isn’t looking for a roster player in return. Instead, the asking price has been a second-round pick and a prospect, multiple sources say.

One can presume that if the Wild is seeking an additional second-round pick in Sunday’s draft, it hopes to package two seconds and trade into the first round. In what many say could be the best NHL draft since 2003, the Wild’s first pick currently is No. 46. The Wild dealt its first-round pick to Buffalo in the Jason Pominville package April 3.

Clutterbuck, 25, a third-round pick in 2006, has 62 goals and 110 points in 346 games for the Wild. He is coming off a tough season, with only four goals and six assists in 42 games. A top penalty killer, Clutterbuck is also one of the league’s most physical forwards. He led the NHL in hits (1,010) in his first three full seasons and led the team with 155 last season.

On Thursday, the Wild tendered qualifying offers to retain the rights of Clutterbuck and fellow restricted free agent Jared Spurgeon. It’s unknown if the Wild qualified or plans to qualify defenseman Justin Falk.

The Wild wouldn’t comment and Falk’s agent didn’t reply to an e-mail, but teams have until Tuesday to tender qualifying offers this year. Minor-leaguers Tyler Cuma, Kyle Medvec, Justin Fontaine, Carson McMillan and Joel Broda also would need to be qualified.

The Wild continues its attempt to trade defenseman Tom Gilbert. If he’s not dealt, the Wild will likely use a compliance buyout on him before the 4 p.m. deadline July 4. That would give a team with $3.6 million in salary cap space an additional $4 million. While the Wild is not actively shopping forwards Devin Setoguchi and Kyle Brodziak, it might be willing to listen to offers.

The Wild doesn’t plan any additional contract talks with potential free agent Matt Cullen until after it sees what salary cap space it has after the draft.

Olympic news

Nashville Predators GM David Poile was officially named GM of the 2014 men’s Olympic hockey team. Pittsburgh Penguins GM Ray Shero was named associate GM, while 2010 Olympic team GM Brian Burke was named director of player personnel. Penguins coach Dan Bylsma is expected to be named coach during a news conference Saturday.

Wild players Zach Parise and Ryan Suter are shoo-ins to make the team. Jonas Brodin has already been invited to Sweden’s camp. Mikko Koivu should captain Finland, while Niklas Backstrom and Mikael Granlund have shots at making the Finnish team.

Etc.

• The Wild re-signed defenseman Steve Kampfer to a one-year, two-way contract. Acquired from Boston for Greg Zanon in 2012, Kampfer scored two goals and had an assist in 13 games for the Wild before spending last season with Houston of the AHL.

• Defenseman Matt Dumba, the Wild’s 2012 first-round pick, was invited to Canada’s World Junior Championships development camp. He was one of the final cuts the past two years.

• The Columbus Blue Jackets gave former Wild coach Todd Richards a one-year extension for the 2014-15 season.
