– The Lynx came back from Orlando after winning the first-ever WNBA preseason tournament with a number of questions still be answered regarding the Opening Day roster.

Maya Moore hit all five of her shots and scored 16 points and rookie Asia Taylor went 6-for-7 and scored 18 points in a 76-69 victory over Chicago.

Played at the multisports complex near Walt Disney World, the tournament was held in conjunction with a girls’ AAU event and has included practices, clinics and autograph sessions with WNBA players and coaches. Lynx forward Seimone Augustus said she enjoyed she enjoyed the atmosphere and being around the AAU players this week.

“I think it helps the younger generation see what their dreams can be,” she said. “For myself, I know at AAU tournaments, we never got to experience a WNBA event. Hopefully this tournament opened up a lot of minds and people got to see great quality of basketball and how competitive we are.”

The Lynx open their season in Washington on Friday. Before then, a few roster spots are yet to be settled.

“We have some hard decisions to make,” coach Cheryl Reeve said.

With both Devereaux Peters and Monica Wright — the team’s top two reserves — recovering from knee surgery, the Lynx went to Orlando hoping to give the regulars some time to jell while looking to settle on a rotation.

Rookie post players Taylor and Damiras Dantas both have had strong training camps and played well in two games in Orlando. Both would appear to have a promising chance at making the final roster.

The starting five appears set, with veteran guard Tan White being the first guard off the bench and second-year player Lindsey Moore as the backup at the point. With Dantas and Taylor making strong bids, and with Peters and Wright on the mend, that only leaves perhaps one roster spot remaining.

Will it go to first-round draft pick Tricia Liston? Liston played Friday but missed Sunday to attend her graduation at Duke. Might the team keep an additional post player, such as center Waltiea Rolle? It would appear the Lynx will look hard at the league’s waiver wire in the coming days. The team could make cuts as soon as Tuesday.
