Gameday preview: Indiana at Lynx
- August 23, 2013 - 9:52 PM
6 P.M. vs INDIANA • No TV, 106.1-FM
Lynx update: The Lynx (19-7) recorded a much-needed victory Thursday in Connecticut, dropping the Sun 91-77 after losing four of their previous five games. Rebekkah Brunson had a season-high 24 points and 11 rebounds in the victory. Head coach Cheryl Reeve said the 6-2 forward “set the tone on both sides” of the ball. It was her 10th double-double of the season. Minnesota shot a scorching 66 percent in the first half on the way to scoring 50 points by halftime. The Lynx clinched a playoff berth for the third consecutive season earlier this week. They are a game ahead of Los Angeles, which plays Tulsa on Sunday, in the race for the top spot in the Western Conference.
Fever update: Indiana upended the Lynx in last year’s WNBA Finals, but the injury-plagued Fever has found the road to repeat much more difficult. Indiana looked to have turned the corner after a 1-7 start, but after drawing even at 10-10 the Fever has lost four of its past six games and sits at 12-14 going into Saturday’s game. These teams have faced each other once this season, with Minnesota winning 69-62 at Indiana.
