The Twins have placed pitcher P.J. Walters on the 15-day disabled lisrt with right shoulder inflammation.

Walters started Wednesday night against Philadelphia, but was removed from the game after giving up hits to the first four batters. The Phillies scored six runs in the first inning and beat the Twins 9-8.

To replace Walters on the 25-man roster, the Twins recalled right-handed pitcher Lester Oliveros from Class AAA Rochester. In 12 games for the Red Wings this season, Oliveros went 1-1 with a 4.08 ERA, with four saves and 22 strikeouts in 17 2/3 innings.

Oliveros, who was acquired last year from Detroit in the Delmon Young trade, started the season at Class AA New Britain.
