Mary Yee's essay hit the mark about mothers' need to safeguard their children from hurtful government policies ("Tiger Moms, your work has just begun," April 10).

Many Tiger Moms are already working so hard being moms that they hardly have the time and energy to take political action, especially if they're working outside the home, too.

This is where Tiger Grandparents can come in! We have more time, if not more energy, to let Uncle Sam know he's gone astray and when he isn't looking out for the interests of our grandchildren.

Education, health care, job opportunities for parents -- this is where our taxes should be going, instead of to support war, corporate bailouts and politicians.

This Tiger Grandmother would love to vote for someone who would raise (or even just collect) taxes from those who can afford to pay them the most -- the rich and high-profit corporations.

Grrrowl.
