Community education offers adult classes

Registration is now open for all community education classes for adults.

Wayzata Community Education offers a wide variety of classes, including fitness, defensive driving, cooking, computer classes and more. New offerings include “Finding Your Sweetie after 50,” “Tai Chi for Arthritis” and “Makeup Boot Camp for Women 40 and Better.”

All households in the Wayzata School District should receive a copy of the catalog, or pick up one up at the Plymouth or Wayzata library. For more information or to receive a catalog, call Diane at 763-745-5213.

Prairie Colors band festival is Saturday

Fourteen high school marching bands will perform their field shows in the 22nd Annual Prairie Colors Marching Band Festival on Saturday at noon.

Prairie Colors will be at Aerie Stadium and the high school campus. Stadium gates open at 10:30 a.m. and competition will begin at noon. Bands competing are from Coon Rapids, Anoka, Champlin Park, Andover, Minnetonka, Hastings, Waseca, Rochester Lourdes, Grand Rapids, MOC-Floyd Valley (Iowa), Marshall, Irondale and Rosemount.

The host band, the Eagle Marching Band, will perform “Gladiator,” with original compositions and musical arrangements from the 2000 film.
