The Hennepin County medical examiner's office on Wednesday identified a 56-year-old Minneapolis woman who died late last week of injuries suffered when she was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle Sept. 10.
Denise Marie Engebretson was hit just after 10:45 p.m. at 16th and University avenues NE. Witnesses said a red Ford Focus fled the scene, according to a police incident report.
She died Friday night at Hennepin County Medical Center, the medical examiner said.
The incident remains under investigation, according to Minneapolis police. A possible suspect has been identified, according to a police spokesman.
