Q: What happened to the show "Shooter"? It was supposed to be on USA Network weeks ago.

A: The drama with Ryan Phillippe and Omar Epps has been postponed.

Based on a novel by Stephen Hunter and the movie starring Mark Wahlberg, it involves an expert sniper brought back into action with what USA terms "disastrous results."

After the shootings of police officers in Dallas, its premiere was delayed a week because of "recent tragic events and out of respect for the victims, their families and our viewers," the network told the New York Times. Following another attack on law enforcement in Baton Rouge, USA decided to delay the series until the fall. As the Times observed, in both of the real incidents, "the gunman was a military veteran, as is the 'Shooter' protagonist."

This is not the first time real life has affected TV schedules. For example, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" delayed an episode with mass violence at a high school following the shootings at Columbine.

'Shades' will return

Q: I'm wondering if my favorite show, "Shades of Blue," will be back in the fall.

A: The drama starring Jennifer Lopez is not in NBC's fall lineup but the network has ordered a second season, so look for it later in 2016-17. And don't think this means the network doesn't have faith in the show; the first season began in January 2016.

Sharon Stone series dropped

Q: I enjoyed a program titled "Agent X" with Sharon Stone. What happened to it?

A: TNT aired a 10-episode season of the series in 2015 and then decided not to continue it. Reviews were poor and ratings not good.

No more 'Following'

Q: Is Fox planning on bringing back the Kevin Bacon series "The Following"?

A: No. The network dropped the series in 2015 after three seasons of declining ratings. Fans hoped it would land elsewhere (as fans do with just about every canceled series), but it did not happen.

Child actress switched gears

Q: The movie "Regarding Henry" in 1991 starred Harrison Ford and Annette Bening along with a young actress, Mikki Allen. I thought she was brilliant and I wonder if she has made any movies since then, and if she is still acting.

A: In the Internet Movie Database, Allen — also known as Kamian Allen — has only "Regarding Henry" as a screen credit. According to her LinkedIn profile, she is now an "award-winning communications specialist with 15+ years experience in reputation management, public relations and crisis issues." Since March, she has been vice president of communications for Audible Inc., a company specializing in digital audiobooks.
