New kids on the block

It may seem foolhardy to launch a talent show in today's highly competitive climate, but never bet against producer Sean "Diddy" Combs, one of the judges in "The Four: Battle for Stardom." Like Simon Cowell, Combs has the ability and pull to create stars, something he's likely to do through this new venture. Whether the process will be entertaining remains to be seen.

A slice of heaven

"The Good Place" has had so many twists and restarts that it can be hard to follow. But try. Thanks in large part to Ted Danson's sly performance and creator Michael Schur's devilish sense of humor, this sitcom, which kicks off the second half of its sophomore season, continues to be one of network TV's most ambitious and satisfying series.

7:30 p.m., KARE, Ch. 11

Harvey who?

It's a little odd that "Project Runway All Stars," a show coproduced by Harvey Weinstein's former company, is now hosted by Alyssa Milano, an actress at the forefront of the #MeToo campaign, and features an ex of the disgraced executive, Georgina Chapman, as judge. But the scandals that rocked 2017 will most likely fade from your thoughts, at least during the first episode, to make way for some much needed mindless fun as show veterans compete against rookies in this sixth season.
