The setup

In "Arranged," three American couples of different faiths show that allowing friends and families to pick your lifetime spouse doesn't alleviate the possibilities of bridezillas and monsters-in-law. The subject could be mined for reality TV high jinks, but producers treat the issue — and their featured players — with respect, even when cellphone video of a bachelorette party threatens the nuptial.

This woman's world

In "Woman," executive producer Gloria Steinem leads a group of female journalists in revealing how violence against women triggers global instability. First up: Reporter Isobel Yeung treks across the Democratic Republic of Congo, where sexual assault of women has become routine. The documentary series is the latest example of Vice's commitment to worldwide investigative journalism, which is becoming more and more scarce.
