A 93-year-old woman out for her morning walk shortly before dawn was struck and killed by a pickup truck backing out of a drive near her home in Savage, authorities said Thursday.

Thelma J. Hill was hit Tuesday and died on the westbound side of Preserve Trail, police said.

Police Chief Randy Seurer said he doesn't expect the driver will be charged with any offense.

Seurer said Hill routinely took a walk at that time of day.
