The last in a series of storm systems will gradually diminish during the day Tuesday as rain and snow Tuesday morning diminishes to rain and snow showers.

Behind this storm, a major shift in the pattern will take place. High pressure will build over northern British Columbia from Wednesday through Saturday, shifting the winds into a much drier, northeasterly direction. Expect a prolonged period of dry weather with sunshine the second half of the week. It will also be noticeably colder in the mountains.
