The current storminess across the southern Plains that has triggered flash flooding and severe weather will not come to an end with the weekend.

Additional rounds of rain next week could lead to new problems, and a heighten danger to residents and motorists.

Disturbances emerging from the Rockies will ignite thunderstorms across the Texas Panhandle and western Oklahoma both Monday and Tuesday.

The storm set to move into California on Monday could eventually be the culprit behind more widespread rain and thunderstorms in and around Oklahoma Wednesday into Thursday.

More details will soon follow about each round of wet weather targeting the southern Plains next week. However, there is growing concern that some of the rain will fall heavily and lead to more flooding problems. The potential also exists that the southern extent of the thunderstorms will turn severe.
