A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday morning in Sibley County when he collided with a car that had been rear-ended and pushed into his lane, the State Patrol said.

Brian Severin, 59, of Gaylord, was headed east on Hwy. 19 when a westbound Toyota Camry slowed to make a left turn at 3rd Avenue SE. in Gaylord about 10:35 a.m. As the Camry slowed, a pickup rear-ended the car. The impact spun the Camry around and pushed it into the eastbound lane where it was struck by Severin, the State Patrol said.

Severin, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Camry, Anna Mae Eisenbraun, 31, of Gaylord, was taken to Arlington Hospital with noncritical injuries. She was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

The pickup truck driver, Curtis Marc Petzel, 58, of Arlington, was not hurt. He also was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

Roads were dry at the time of the crash and alcohol did not appear to be factor, the patrol said.
