WASHINGTON – Hillary Clinton's campaign said the former secretary of State will deliver a major counterterrorism address in Minnesota next week -- a state known as one of the nation's biggest hotbeds of domestic terrorism recruitment.
Clinton will lay out a strategy that "protects the U.S. homeland from terrorist attacks."
"The strategy will address the threat of domestic radicalization and demonstrate her belief that the most effective plan stays true to America's most deeply held values, such as inclusiveness and religious freedom," the campaign said.
Federal officials on Thursday charged the 10th Minnesota Somali-American man for allegedly helping the Islamic State. Clinton is likely attempting to contrast herself with GOP presidential hopeful front-runner Donald Trump, who earlier this week proposed a ban on all Muslims entering the United States.
Clinton's speech will be at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, though no further information was available on where it was going to be held. The speech coincides with a fundraising trip Clinton had long planned in Minneapolis.
