Indie singer-songwriter Ani DiFranco postponed her First Avenue show Saturday night due to COVID-19 exposure.

DiFranco wrote in a tweet that the exposure was among her tour crew and apologized to fans for the postponement, which was made "out of an abundance of caution."

"We are sorry to miss the show tonight and will reschedule as soon as we safely can. Thank you for your support. Please take care of yourselves and each other."

She is on tour this summer promoting her new album, "Revolutionary Love," that was recorded in North Carolina before the pandemic. DiFranco later posted a video on Instagram that shows her standing on the sidewalk at First Avenue next to the gold Prince star, playing a guitar and singing "Sometimes It Snows in April."

One user commented: "Imagine the guts it takes to stand on the street after you've climbed so far, to play your guitar. people pass by & you just smile. This is the reason you are my favorite artist. Strong yet humble. Bold."

First Avenue shared on Twitter that "tickets will remain valid for the new date (TBD), so hang on to your original ticket." The venue said Aug. 2 that it would require proof of vaccination or negative test results to get into a show at First Avenue and sister venues, including 7th St. Entry, Turf Club, Fine Line and Palace and Fitzgerald theaters.
