NHL general managers made changes in the nets Saturday, when goalies moved all over the league.

The Edmonton Oilers got their goaltender, acquiring Cam Talbot from the New York Rangers.

The Oilers sent the 57th, 79th and 184th picks to New York for Talbot and the 209th pick. Talbot, 28, was effective in goal when Henrik Lundqvist missed two months with a vascular injury in his neck this past season, Talbot's second as a Ranger. He has a year left on his contract and can be an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Also Saturday, the Rangers acquired goaltender Antti Raanta from Chicago for 22-year-old forward Ryan Haggerty. Raanta, 26, is 20-9-5 in 39 career games, all with the Blackhawks.

In other moves involving goaltenders:

• The Vancouver Canucks traded goaltender Eddie Lack to the Carolina Hurricanes for Carolina's third-round pick in this weekend's draft and as a seventh-rounder in 2016. The 27-year-old Lack went 18-13-4 with a 2.45 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage last season, his second full season with the Canucks.

He took over the starting job in February because of Ryan Miller's knee injury.

The trade leaves Lack and starter Cam Ward, who has a year left on his contract, as the Hurricanes' top two goalies.

• Shortly after announcing the trade, the Hurricanes dealt goalie Anton Khudobin to Anaheim for defenseman James Wisniewski. The Ducks also traded forward Emerson Etem, a 2010 first-round pick who was raised in California, to the Rangers for forward Carl Hagelin, and dealt forward Kyle Palmieri to New Jersey for two draft choices in a deal finalized early Saturday.

Anaheim got the 41st overall pick in that deal and sent it to the Rangers to secure Hagelin, a restricted free agent.

Hagelin had been expecting a raise from his expiring two-year, $4.5 million contract. With next season's salary cap at $71.4 million, the Rangers have roughly $12 million in space, but about half of that is likely to go toward re-signing center Derek Stepan of Hastings.

• The Dallas Stars acquired the rights to former Stanley Cup champion goalie Antti Niemi from the San Jose Sharks, sending San Jose its seventh-round choice (193rd overall) in Saturday's draft. Niemi is set to become an unrestricted free agent.

The 31-year-old won all 16 postseason games for Chicago in 2010 when the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup.

Chinese player drafted

For the first time, a Chinese player has been selected in the NHL draft.

Defenseman Andong Song was chosen by the New York Islanders with the No. 172 pick Saturday. Song, who goes by the name Misha, started playing hockey on a smaller-than-normal rink in Beijing when his mother was trying to find him a sport.

Once his talent was spotted, his family moved to Canada and he quickly excelled when he began playing as a 10-year-old.

"Feels like I'm a star already," said Andong, who was followed by a Chinese television crew Saturday. "But, long way to go."

The 18-year-old Andong, who plays on one of China's national teams, plans to attend Philips Andover Academy in Massachusetts as a postgraduate student.

Coyotes deal Gagner

Arizona traded forward Sam Gagner and a draft choice to Philadelphia for defenseman Nicklas Grossmann and the contract of defenseman Chris Pronger, a former MVP and Norris Trophy winner who last played in the NHL in 2011-12, when he appeared in 13 games with the Flyers.

Gagner had 15 goals and 26 assists in 81 games after being traded to Arizona from Tampa Bay before last season. Grossman had five goals in 68 games with the Flyers last season.

The Oilers acquired forward Brad Ross and the 107th pick from Toronto for defenseman Martin Marincin.
