Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin remained at home Thursday as he continues to deal with migraine headaches that could keep him out of Sunday's game at Carolina. Harvin has not been able to practice since Dec. 4, two days before the Vikings lost at Arizona.

Harvin missed last Sunday's game against Cincinnati and all of last week's practice because of the headaches. Harvin was at Winter Park on Wednesday morning but went home after becoming ill.

Harvin visited doctors on Monday. Asked if Harvin will continue to see doctors this week or if there is only so much they can do, Childress said:  "Only so much right now. We feel like we've got a decent plan in place."

The truth of the matter seems to be the Vikings don't know when Harvin will be able to return but they are likely to be cautious with him because once this episode subsides they don't want a recurrence. "Every day is a possibility," Childress said of Harvin's potential return. "We've had good dialogue back and forth [with doctors] and just continue to press their ear."

Also missing practice Thursday was wide receiver Sidney Rice. Rice was listed with an illness on the injury report. The absence of Harvin and Rice from the practice field meant the Vikings were missing a combined 115 catches for 1,756 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The Vikings added defensive end Ray Edwards to the injury report as well because of a back issue. Edwards was limited. He was one of 10 players who was limited. The rest of that list: wide receiver Bernard Berrian (hamstring); cornerack Cedric Griffin (neck); left guard Steve Hutchinson (shoulder); safety Tyrell Johnson (concussion); right tackle Phil Loadholt (shoulder); cornerback Karl Paymah (knee, ankle); tight end Visanthe Shiancoe (ribs, foot); center John Sullivan (concussion) and cornerback Antoine Winfield (foot).

The Panthers, meanwhile, added running back Tyrell Sutton (thigh) to their injury report. Sutton did not practice. Quarterback Jake Delhomme (finger) and cornerback Richard Marshall (ankle) also sat out Thursday. Matt Moore will start in Delhomme's spot Sunday night.

Wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad (knee) and running back Jonathan Stewart (toe) were able to take part in all of Thursday's practice after sitting out Wednesday.
