The Vikings earned their first win of 2011 on Sunday in big part because running back Adrian Peterson took control early. Peterson had 69 rushing yards and scored three touchdowns in the first quarter against Arizona, sparking the Vikings to an early 28-point lead.

The Vikings won 34-10. Peterson finished with 122 rushing yards and three TDs. And on Tuesday the star back was named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week. This is the fifth time Peterson has earned the honor. Sunday also marked the fifth time in his career that he scored three touchdowns in a game.

Peterson has an NFL-best six rushing touchdowns this season. He also ranks second in the league with 498 rushing yards. Oakland's Darren McFadden has 519 rushing yards through five weeks.
