The Vikings selected Arkansas offensive tackle DeMarcus Love with the 168th pick overall in the sixth round.
School: Arkansas
Size: 6-4, 315 pounds Age: 23

The skinny: Love is the first offensive lineman the Vikings took in the draft. The Vikings needed to bolster their line both at tackle and in the interior. Love has the potential to play both tackle and guard so his versatility is a plus. At Arkansas, Love started 26 games at left tackle and 11 at guard. He was named first-team all-SEC as a senior. He was a two-time team captain.

Pro Football Weekly summary: "A long-armed, slow twitched, underpowered weak-side tackle who could contend for a job as a developmental, swing backup. Struggled inside and outside at the Senior Bowl and fits best in a zone-blocking scheme."

Chip's take: The Vikings needed to address their offensive line in this draft. Some thought that would happen earlier in the draft. Love looks like a guy who play both tackle and guard so that should add to his value.
