CLEVELAND -- Twins pitcher P.J. Walters was shaken up but not too seriously when he made a pickoff move in the fifth inning and caught his cleat on the mound. Walters said he just needed to regroup behind the mound and was fine.

Handed a 4-0, first-inning lead, Walters let the Indians come back with single runs in the first, third, fourth and fifth.

"His fastball wasn't jumping tonight like it normally does, but that shows you he has some moxie, when he pitched around it," Manager Ron Gardenhire said after the 7-4 victory. "He never really gave up the big inning, never really gave up the big hit. He didn't have his best stuff, obviously, and our bullpen was the story."

* Brian Duensing relieved Walters and stranded two runners in the fifth. For the season, Duensing has stranded 14 of his 16 inherited runners.

"It's fun with the whole bullpen, it seems like we have good camaraderie down there," Duensing said. "We're pulling for each other, and I think that helps, too."

* Jared Burton relieved Duensing and retired the final two batters in the seventh inning. Glen Perkins retired the side in the eighth. Matt Capps entered for the ninth, and when Lonnie Chisenhall lined out to right field for the first out -- on a spectacular catch by Ben Revere that ended in a somersault -- the bullpen had retired 12 consecutive batters.

Capps gave up a single to Lou Marson but struck out the next two batters for his 11th save in 12 chances.

"The bullpen was super," Gardenhire said. "They all did their job."

* The Twins will try to win the series on Sunday, with Scott Diamond (3-1, 2.27 ERA) opposing Justin Masterson (2-4, 5.14 ERA). The first pitch is at 2:05 p.m. (Central). Check back here for the starting lineups.
