Continued domination by both of the state's adapted sports power teams make them the favorites to win softball championships on June 2 at Coon Rapids High School.

In the PI (physically impaired) Division, Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound-Westonka (7-1) seeks its fourth consecutive softball championship. Add in state titles in soccer and floor hockey already this season and the Robins have captured 10 of the past 11 PI Division team titles.

In the CI (cognitively impaired) Division, Anoka-Hennepin (9-0) seeks to defend its softball title and win its eighth consecutive team title overall. The Mustangs have not lost a game in any sport since November 2009.

The programs are combined 69-1-2 so far this season.

The youthful Robins batted .673 and averaged 12 runs per game this season, led by junior Charlie Wittmer (22 hits, 13 RBI) and sophomores Joe Dubisar (18-12) and Tyler Sarff (15-12). Pitcher Jordan Klein, just an eighth-grader, went 6-1, backed by a defense that allowed 4.3 runs per game.

Mounds View/Irondale/Roseville (4-4) is the PI North Division No. 2 seed. Devian Thompson drove in 22 Rams' runs.

Anoka-Hennepin also wins games with an overpowering offense. The Mustangs averaged 13.2 runs per game while giving up 2.6. Closing out two of the more decorated careers in adapted sports are dynamic seniors Tyler Kurkowski (.950, 19 hits, 12 RBI) and Zach Theroux (.809, 17-16). Additional pop from the plate is provided by Troy Couch (10 hits, 10 RBI). Dillon Domeier, Patrick Lawrence and seventh-grader Cole Denny have combined for 36 hits. Kurkowski is 8-0 as a pitcher.

The Osseo Orioles (9-1) received the CI North Division No. 2 seed, one spot ahead of Mounds View/Irondale/Roseville Rams (7-2). Bruce Matusovic drove in 22 runs for the Rams.
