UND hockey player hurt badly

North Dakota women's hockey player Lisa Marvin is "really lucky to be alive," according to her father, after being hit by a car on Monday.

Marvin, a cousin of former Gopher and Olympian Gigi Marvin, was thrown into the air when a car hit her truck from behind while she was filling it with gas on the side of the road in Grand Forks, N.D. She suffered extensive damage to her right arm and right knee.

Her father, David Marvin, of Warroad, Minn., said she is facing a long road to recovery, the Grand Forks Herald reported.
