First-line wings Maryanne Menefee and Amanda Kessel each had a goal and an assist and freshman center Hannah Brandt added two assists as the Gophers women's hockey team beat Wisconsin 4-1 on Saturday at Ridder Arena before a sellout crowd of 3,400 to stay unbeaten at 17-0.

Kessel has 47 points this season, Brandt 45. They rank 1-2 in the nation in scoring.

The top-ranked Gophers (11-0 in the WCHA) scored all their goals in the second period. With the Gophers up 2-0, Sarah Davis scored an unassisted goal and later had an assist as Becky Kortum got the Gophers' fourth goal.

Gophers goalie Noora Raty stopped 22 shots and had a shutout until Brianna Decker scored her 17th goal of the season for the 10th-ranked Badgers (10-5-2, 6-5-2 WCHA) at 6 minutes, 39 seconds of the third period.

The Badgers had won seven of their previous eight games. The teams play again at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ridder.
