Just a few minutes ago, Prior Lake native Teal Bunbury was chosen No. 4 overall in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft by the Kansas City Wizards. His father, Alex, played two years for the Wizards at the end of his career and the duo is the first father-son in MLS history.
Teal played prep soccer at Shattuck-St. Mary's in Faribault before starring at the University of Akron. As a sophomore this past season, he scored a Division-I best 17 goals and led the Zips to a runner-up finish in the national tournament. He won the Hermann Trophy, given annually to the nation's top college soccer player. We wrote more about him in the Newspaper of the Twin Cities yesterday, if you want to know more.
