Name: Hosken Powell
Claim to Fame, Minnesota: part of the legendary (to me, anyway) 1978 Minnesota Twins outfield with Disco Danny Ford, Rich Chiles, Willie “Dr. Strangeglove” Norwood and Bombo “Bombo” Rivera. Powell was the Twins’ 1st-round pick in the 1975 amateur secondary draft, and he patrolled right field for Minnesota from 1978-1981. Powell was then traded to the Blue Jays for Greg Wells.
Claim to Fame, Everywhere Else: finished his pro career with Toronto in 1983. As evidenced by his draft status, was a high school phenom in Pensacola, Fla., where he would later coach high school baseball.
Where He Is Now: still in Pensacola, per this Pensacola News-Journal article from Bill Vilona.

Glorious Randomness #1: his roommate at Chipola College was Orioles manager Buck Showalter.
Glorious Randomness #2: Greg Wells narrowly missed being selected to the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame last year, and like David Wells is nicknamed “Boomer.”
Glorious Randomness #3: Chipola College is located in Marianna, Fla., where apparently the only good thing that has ever happened is a 2010 law allowing city residents to buy alcohol on Sundays. I’m not kidding.
