Gophers sophomore center Nick Bjugstad, who is still deciding whether to turn pro or not, is rated as the No. 3 prospect in the Florida Panthers' system by Hockey's Future, a web site which bills itself as the No. 1 Online Prospects Resource.

He is behind only left wing Jonathan Huberdeau and goalie Jacob Markstrom.

Because of players like that, the Panthers are rated as the No. 1 NHL team for prospects, ahead of the Wild who are No. 2. Another Panthers' prospect is Kyle Rau, the Gophers freshman left wing. They took him in the third round of th 2011 NHL draft.

Among the Wild prospects Hockey's Future mentions are left wingers Erik Haula and Mario Lucia and says both have long-term upside. Haula will be one of the Gophers' top two centers this coming season. He has said he will come back for his junior season. Lucia is Don's son. He will be a freshman at Notre Dame this season.
