Michael Rand started RandBall with hopes that he could keep lies from conquering the minds of the weak. So far, he's only succeeded in using the word "redacted" a lot. He welcomes suggestions, news tips, links of pure genius, and pictures of pets in Halloween costumes here, though he already knows he will regret that last part.

The Hunt Down
Name: Brendan Harris
Claim to Fame, Minnesota: acquired from Tampa Bay as part of the Matt Garza/Delmon Young deal in 2007. He was supposed to replace Jason Bartlett at shortstop, where I recall the argument was that he had a better bat than Bartlett, which would make up for a perceived downgrade in defense. Of course, he ended up struggling so badly at the plate that in June of 2010, he was outrighted to Rochester for Jason Repko. He was eventually moved, along with JJ Hardy, to the Orioles for Brett Jacobson and Jim Hoey, making way for Tsuyoshi Nishioka. This has not turned out to be a fruitful move for the Twins so far. That said, Harris played well in Game 2 of the 2009 ALDS. He also did the high socks thing, if you’re into that.
