As noted on Deadspin, the 1986 national championship ring of scandal-ridden former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky is up for auction on eBay. Per the listing: You are bidding on the 1986 National Championship ring of Defensive Coordinator Jerry Sandusky. Winning bidder will also receive a COA and appraisal. Serious bidders only.

Per Deadspin, it is being sold by a memorabilia dealer. "I've been thinking about selling it for a year. ... I could use the money. The timing is right." When Deadspin posted a couple hours ago, the starting selling price was $1. The bidding as of a few minutes ago was up past $3,000.

Not sure who would want to own that. We'll file it under "interesting" and move on.

Also, a bit of housecleaning: Friday, we tweeted that someone was trying to sell a "game-worn" Sage Rosenfels jersey from the Vikings/Patriots game on Halloween in 2010. The problem, as noted in the tweet, was that Rosenfels wasn't on the Vikings at the time -- he had been traded to the Giants nearly two months before that. We are happy to report, then, that the seller has changed it to say it is a "season-issued" Rosenfels jersey. (It has to be the same listing since the link from our Friday tweet now goes to the amended page). The seller still wants $500 for it. That's cheaper than a Jerry Sandusky championship ring, but still way too much in our book.
