The Lynx had their franchise-record nine game winning streak at home broken on Friday by the New York Liberty. The visitors won 78-82.

But Sunday it was the Lynx's turn to snap the Liberty's five-game win streak on their home court, the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. The Lynx won 86-68, shooting 54 percent from the floor.

We don't like losing at home," Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said in a news release from the Liberty. "It's the third time we lost at home. We were just disappointed with our effort and execution in that game.

"We watched video and I just have a really good group of players that have very high expectations of themselves. It takes very little motivation for them to bounce back after losses. They executed the game plan brilliantly. We were difficult to play against and that was our goal."

Rookie Maya Moore had a team-high 19 points for the Lynx while four teammates had between 10 and 12 points.

"I'm sorry for our performance," New York Liberty coach John Whisenant said. "We didn't come out prepared with the energy required to beat this team. We kind of stirred them up beating them over there and we just didn't play well."

The Lynx are 6-1 in games after losses.

"The first half we didn't have the right kind of energy and effort," Whisenant said. "And in the third quarter when we were trying, we couldn't make a basket...we played a little dead legged and I'm disappointed...Defense is the great equalizer if we play it right and we didn't play it right [Sunday afternoon]."

"They're the best team in the league with the best record," Liberty forward Plenette Pierson said, "of course they're going to be riled up to come back and play us after we beat them on their home court. I think they just came out and they were focused and they had adjusted to our defense and were ready to go."

Guard Cappie Pondexter, New York's leading scorer, really struggled for the second game in a row against the Lynx. She was 0 for 9 from the field and scored only nine points, all on free throws.

"The main goal is to try to stop Cappie," said Seimone Augustus, who guarded her, "because when she gets going the rest of the team follows the lead."

"We have put together a number of impressive wins during the season, but by no means have we arrived," said Lynx center Taj McWilliams-Franklin, who played for the Liberty last season. "The players understand, unlike a lot of young brash rookie teams who think they are the greatest. This team thinks nothing of that, they're thinking about the next game only, not what could be."
