The Twins cleared a spot for lefthanded pitcher Tommy Malone, scheduled to start today's game at Boston, by putting righthander Ricky Nolasco on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to June 1). Nolasco has a right ankle impingement suffered his his last start on May 31 against Toronto.
Milone was on the Twins Opening Day roster and was 2-1 with a 4.76 ERA in four starts. Nolasco was 5-1 with a 5.56 ERA in seven starts.
After his demotion to AAA Rochester, Milone went 4-0 with a 0.70 ERA, with 47 strikeouts and just three walks in 38.2 innings.
