Not that my words meant anything to those who made decisions, but I lobbied hard for the Vikings to draft Johnny Manziel and thought they had made a mistake passing him up on draft night and going with Teddy Bridgewater instead.

I might not be wrong forever. People can grow and learn. But after one season, I am so wrong. Every red flag about Manziel — potential for injury, potential for distraction, you name it — has played out this year.

Bridgewater, meanwhile, has been exactly as advertised. That doesn't mean Bridgewater has been perfect, but if you had to guess which one will be a starting QB for a long time to come, it's Teddy by a landslide.

A BETTER FIT Maybe Jim Harbaugh belongs in college, where his habit of wearing out players won't matter because they all eventually graduate and move on.

ALL OVER AGAIN This late December swoon for the Wild is eerily similar to what happened last season. Will another January rebirth follow?
