One of the big reasons Zach Parise signed a 13-year contract in 2012 with the Wild was because he wanted to start his family in his home state of Minnesota.
On Wednesday, his wife, Alisha, gave birth to their first children. Daughter Emilia was born at 9:17 a.m. Her twin brother, Jaxson, was born one minute later.
"It's been a bit crazy around here," Parise said in an e-mail.
Parise, who is out with a foot injury, is just the latest Minnesota sports star to be a father of twins. Last summer, the Twins' Joe Mauer and his wife, Maddie, welcomed girls Emily and Maren.
