Here are three thoughts following the Twins' loss to Kansas City.

ARCIA, NOT GOOD: ``I went to the ball. I missed the ball," was what Arcia said after his mistake in the sixth inning kicked off a three-run rally for the Royals. Arcia already has missed a couple plays in the outfield. He also has broken into a home run trot when he's thought he's hit home runs. He did it on his only homer of the year and it barely made the seats. The Twins don't want to take away the joy he likes to put in his game. But he's got to make routine plays and run hard. That's basic stuff.

SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAFE?: Danny Santana, who needed it, singled to center in the fifth inning. With the score 1-1, he took off for second against the powerful arm of Royals catcher Salvador Perez. Santana dived into second and looked like he was going to be safe. But he apparently didn't. He picked up his left arm as if he was trying to avoid the tag then reach for the bag with his right hand. The replay we saw suggested that he might have been able to get in under that, and he might have stopped himself from being safe by attempting the swim move. Your thoughts?

THE BALL FINDS HIM: When Arcia's foul ball hit Kurt Suzuki in the second inning, I started to look where Class AAA Rochester was playing. Suzuki took the ball off the top of the right foot and, apparently, caught more flesh than bone. ``I'm fine," he said. ``No ice, no nothin' It's part of the game. I didn't feel my foot for about three minutes." Remember, this is the man who has been hit by Lorenzo Cain's bat during his follow through, almost had his arm ripped off by Adam Eaton when they got tangled up in Chicago and who has already taken foul tips off his body. ``Maybe get this all out of the way now and have a good five months of the season left." .He was asked if trainer Dave Pruemer tried to talk him into leaving the game,. ``He knows better than that," Suzuki said. Twins manager Paul Molitor called him a, ``gamer" in every sense of the word.
