Uve Hamilton of St. Paul was visiting her daughter, who lives near Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, when she decided to take a walk along the lake on Jan. 22, 2014. At one point, the blowing snow was so intense that she thought she'd dropper her camera because she couldn't tell whether it was still strapped to her jacket.

What cold? Minnesotans (mostly) embrace the extreme weather

Even for Minnesota, this has been a winter of extremes, with mandatory statewide school cancellations and wind chills plummeting to more than 40 degreees below zero. But Minnesotans are a stoic lot and mostly embrace the cold. We asked for readers' favorite ways to cope with extreme weather, and here are some of our favorite respones:
