Over the weekend, a piece from The Hill entitled "Senators skip classified briefing on NSA snooping to catch flights home" drew attention.

"A recent briefing by senior intelligence officials on surveillance programs failed to attract even half of the Senate, showing the lack of enthusiasm in Congress for learning about classified security programs," the piece said.

"Only 47 of 100 senators attended" the briefing, which was held Thursday afternoon, the Hill wrote.

While the Hill did not have the names of senators who skipped, Hot Dish confirmed that Minnesota's members were not among them.

Spokespeople for both Minnesota Sens. Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar said their bosses were at the classified briefing.
