This week: U.S. Ryder Cup players Dustin Johnson, Keegan Bradley, Matt Kuchar, Zach Johnson and Webb Simpson top the field. No one has more confidence than Johnson, coming off a season-opening victory at the Tournament of Champions the day before on Maui. The last player to start the season by winning both tournaments in Hawaii was Ernie Els in 2003.
Everyone else starts from scratch. "The fun part about this week is that everyone is in a good mood," Jeff Maggert said. "They're not complaining about how they've been playing."
... The Humana Challenge is next week in La Quinta, Calif., followed by the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego, and the Phoenix Open. Tiger Woods and top-ranked Rory McIlroy will open their seasons next week in Abu Dhabi, and Phil Mickelson will start play in La Quinta.
