WCHA teams had Christmas off, but now the Gophers, Bemidji State, Denver, Michigan Tech, Minnesota Duluth, Minnesota State Mankato, Nebraska Omaha and St. Cloud State are busy. All eight play over the next five days. The Huskies open the nonconference stretch with a game against RPI tonight.

Freshman forward Joey Benik, who was injured early, will be in the Huskies lineup for the first time. The SCSU freshmen have been scoring all the team's goals lately and Benik should add even more punch to that class. The Huskies, in first place in the WCHA, should sweep the Engineers.
