The field: Nearly 300 top pro cyclists will compete in the country's top women's race and No. 2-ranked men's race. Rory Sutherland has won the men's title the past three years. Kristin Armstrong, a four-time Nature Valley champion from 2006-09, continues her return from retirement and looks to unseat defending champion Shelley Olds.
Stage 1: St. Paul Riverfront Time Trial. Start: Lilydale Road near Harriet Island; Finish: Cherokee Street at the top of the Smith Avenue High Bridge. Women, 8:30 a.m.; Men, 10 a.m.
Stage 2: Downtown St. Paul Criterium. Start/finish: St. Peter and 6th St. Women, 6:15 p.m.; Men, 7:45 p.m.
Stage 3: Cannon Falls Road Race, 62 miles. Start/finish: 3rd and Mill Street near downtown Cannon Falls. Men, 5 p.m.; Women, 5:30 p.m.
Stage 4: Uptown Minneapolis Criterium. Start/finish: Hennepin Avenue and 31st Street. Women, 6:15 p.m.; Men, 7:45 p.m.
Stage 5: Menomonie (Wis.) Road Race, 95 miles (men) and 76 miles (women). Start/finish: 3rd and Main Street. Men, noon; Women, 1:15 p.m.
Stage 6: Stillwater Criterium. Start/finish: Top of Chilkoot Hill. Women, 11:45 a.m.; Men, 1:30 p.m.
